Seara, the global food brand of the Marfrig Group, is the final FIFA World Cup Sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.
Agreement effective until the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil
Zurich, April 14 - Seara, the global food brand of the Marfrig Group, is the new official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup™ for 2010 and 2014. The agreement, which takes effect immediately and lasts until the FIFA World Cup™ to be hosted by Brazil in 2014, was signed by the FIFA President, Joseph S. Blatter, and the CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Marfrig Group, Marcos Antonio Molina dos Santos.In addition to the exposure for the Seara brand at FIFA World Cups™ and FIFA Confederations Cups, and for the other brands of the Marfrig Group, such as Moy Park, Paty and Pemmican®, the sponsorship agreement also includes rights for the general use of the FIFA Official Marks in advertising campaigns and product packaging for the Marfrig Group worldwide.

Seara is also the official sponsor of the Brazilian National Team and Santos Football Club, one of the most admired football teams in Brazil, whose star player is Robinho.

Seara’s agreement with FIFA, which begins in 2010 and runs until 2014 is the last FIFA World Cup Sponsor for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ and follows in the footsteps of Brazilian telecommunications company, Oi, who recently became the first Brazilian FIFA World Cup Sponsor for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
Marfrig is also renowned for its responsible, proactive and innovative actions on the social and environmental sides. Important achievements include the agreements signed with Greenpeace to reduce to zero the impacts caused by cattle operations in the Amazon biome, and with Walmart to reduce packaging use, carbon emissions and energy consumption up to 2013.
